Last day in South Africa. I am sad to leave here yet will be happy to get home.
Feels like it’s been a whirl-wind tour the last few days. I got to the top of Table Mountain yesterday by cable car. Probably should have hiked as waited in line two hours. The power was down and the backup generators don’t have as much pull so not as many people can ride the two conterbalanced cars. Once at the top, visibility was spotty yet still breathtaking.
From there I rushed back to the Cape Park then stopped to see penguins. I felt like a bloody tourist stopping to take pics then moving on to the next sight. The next visit will just have to be longer.
Today, my last day here, I’m back to see the penguins again as my mem card got full yesterday.
Then fly out at 6:40pm and on to London for only 3 hours, next stop Chicago for 5 hours where I’ll visit with two old high school girlfriends like a class reunion. And finally Phoenix and home by about 10pm. I’m sure to be exhausted, but it certainly has been worth it.
Thanks to all for the Birthday wishes. I’ll be in touch in a few days. Then I promise to start posting pics from this wonderful adventure.
I feel very sad that this is your last day my friend. What a pleassure it has been having you here and being able to show you around. You are right, the trip was too short and I will be saving my leave until you come back again then maybe I can spend 3 weeks with you. We have so much still to see.
Have a great and safe journey back and please post all your wonderful pictures soon.
Wow. A card full of memories. You will be busy just looking at them when you get home. Have a safe trip. And I guess I missed your birthday, so "HAPPY BIRTHDAY."
Have a safe journey Gaelyn and I look forward to your upcoming posts.

Oh Gaelyn, the month went very quickly, didn't it? Well I am sure you will be glad to get home also. Have a comfortable and safe journey home. I will look out for your first post from home.
Have a safe trip home and then a BIG sleep…won't it feel heavenly…
I can't wait to see what you have on that very full card! I think you need even another one before your next trip! Take care…
It's always sad to end a trip, but it feels so good to be back home again. I can't wait to see all the photos from your incredible journey.
My heart is pounding with joy. Both at the thought of yuor trip being so eventful and exciting, and also the thought of your return! I started to feel selfish, in getting caught up on missing you. And worring about you on the road. But it all got worked out when I thought about the look on your face in all the pictures I've seen over the past month, and I was filled with joy! I'm so glad that you were able to take this trip. I know how much you looked forward to it. Still, I can't wait to see you again…. Just a little while yet.
Sometimes it's okay to be a 'bloody tourist!' I felt the same in India, but hey, how many times are you going to see some of the sights you're seeing? I'm sorry you're leaving SA, too, but am looking forward to your photos.
Have a safe journey home and take it easy. Like I said, I hope we will get to see lots more of your holiday pics of our beautiful country. And do tell the world how its not as dangerous to come here as a tourist as everybody thinks.
